Thanksgiving has come and gone, and if you’re anything like me, you’re probably reading this while munching leftovers and scanning for Black Friday deals. The official start of the holiday season is here—and so is Giving Tuesday!
There are many organizations worthy of support this season, but few cater as broadly to families with disabled members as SMILE Mass does. One of our 2022 goals is expanding “Community within a Community – Club SMILE Mass”—increasing user numbers and securing funding for a dedicated accessible facility and grounds.
“It is very difficult to find accessible after-school programs for kids under 22… clients who have aged out of the school system have even fewer options. Community within a Community will be a great fit for these kids/young adults,” says Susan Brown, co-founder and CEO.
As someone with a physical disability, I can tell you resources are scarce—and often minimal. SMILE Mass looks beyond that, truly seeking to improve lives in impossible-to-imagine ways.
