It’s finally April and while the official first day of spring occurred weeks ago, it seems like Mother Nature has only recently picked up on the memo. And fingers crossed, it is finally here to stay, because as anyone who lives in New England knows Mother Nature doesn’t hold back from playing some pretty sick jokes.

But, in all seriousness, those first few days when the cold weather finally breaks and you can venture outside without bundling up are some of my favorites of the year. I ride my wheelchair around my neighborhood in glee after months of being cooped up in the house. And year after year, I’m consistently shocked about the effect that the long-overdue Vitamin D has on my mood and mental health.

The good news is, that SMILE Mass has plenty of things to help you make the most of this season. Below are the activities planned for this April.

  • We are participating in the Lexington Patriot’s Day parade on April 18th
  • On April 30th we are having a shopping event fundraiser at Madewell in the Natick Mall

More activities are in the works for the week of April vacation, so be sure to sign up for SMILE Mass’ newsletter to be on the lookout. Until next time, always remember to make today a great day!
